Switzerland

You know that girl you see in school or at work all the time, who never wears anything brighter than white? That's me; Plain Jane. I can't help but love my neutrals. If you ever shift through my closet and find anything neon, it is probably from my tomboy phase when I made sure all my sneakers had matching tops (so glad thats over). As I've matured with my style, I've realized an outfit can say a lot more with a lot less. I don't mean with less fabric or material, although that may sometimes be the case. Patterns and graphic prints are not the only ways to speak through an outfit. A combination of different structured pieces within an outfit can say a thousand words. I matched this beige trench duster with a high waisted trouser for a more sophisticated look. And nothing says classy much like a pair of pearl earrings. I opted for a minimal strapless top and a pointed toe shoe to tie everything together.

June Mood Board | Royally Rugged

All images found via Instagram & Tumblr

The month of June: Schools out and senior year is about to start, so I'm feeling pretty important. As I start the summer off feeling like Queen B with a pay check or two on the way, my inspiration for outfits has changed. I've fallen in love with dainty chokers and delicate silks. I also cant deny my eternal need for comfort in a pair of worn in jeans. I call this mash up between high maintenance and distressed comfort Royally Rugged

Drowned in Denim

Chocker: DIY

I am a huge fan of denim. It versatile and, when paired with other denim pieces, can make a real statement. I managed to throw this outfit together at the last minute and was pleasantly surprised with the results. This has to be the cutest comfy outfit I've ever created. This outfit is almost completely thrifted, too. The high waisted button-up denim skirt was an amazing find in good condition. The Levi's jean jacket was a steal in brand new condition and fits perfectly. With a good wash, the V-neck top turned out to be an essential addition to my wardrobe. All together, this outfit cost me $25. I love the thrift store because I am able to find quality items for much less than retail. And with retro styles coming back in full circle, cool finds in thrift stores are practically the same styles as "new trends," if not, better.
